Oliver Lange working with the film camera

Ten years of experience. One point of contact. From first idea to finished film.

I'm Oliver Lange, a filmmaker from Leipzig. Before I pick up the camera, I analyse: which positions do you need to fill, who do you have to reach, and what sets you apart from other employers? Only then does the concept take shape. From more than 50 projects I know how to shoot while work carries on: quickly, unobtrusively and so that your people stay themselves on camera. Creatively, I adapt to your company, not the other way round. Concept, shoot, edit and project management stay with me: you always talk directly to the person making your film.

The questions you're asking right now.

How much does a recruiting video cost?

After a short briefing you get a fixed-price quote. Concept, shoot, edit, music licences and one bundled round of revisions are included. The price mainly depends on shooting days, locations, the number of interviews and the versions you need.

How long does it take to produce a recruiting film?

We shoot for one or two days at your site while work carries on as usual. You see first cuts after 24 to 48 hours; depending on scope, everything is finished within one to two weeks.

What is the difference between an image film and a recruiting film?

An image film speaks to customers and shows what you offer. A recruiting film speaks to future colleagues and shows what it is like to work with you. That is why your employees tell the story themselves.

How long should a recruiting video be?

Typically 30 to 45 seconds. That is enough to show people and daily work, and short enough to be watched to the end on social media and in job ads.

What do we get?

Each shooting day (about eight hours) yields up to ten reels of 30 to 45 seconds in portrait format, ready for your careers page, job ads and social media. Animations, lower thirds, subtitles, your logo, licensed music and a closing call-to-action slide are always included. I archive the raw footage, so further cuts can be made later without a new shoot.

How many employees should be on camera?

Three to five are enough. The selection matters more than the number: different roles, generations and paths into the company. That way candidates recognise themselves, wherever they come from.

Our people don't want to be on camera. What then?

That is almost always the case; most people feel unsure at first. Nobody learns lines: I sit next to the camera and ask simple, open questions, as if you were getting to know someone. After about ten minutes it's “That's it”, and most are surprised how relaxed it was.

Image rights and GDPR: what happens if someone leaves the company?

We settle consent forms before the shoot, so it is clear where and for how long the film will be used. Because I archive the raw footage, I can cut a person out later if needed. For individual legal questions, your data protection advisor is the right contact.

Can we use the film for several open positions?

Yes, that is the norm. The film shows your culture and your people, not a single position. For targeted ads I can cut role-specific versions from the same footage.

Can't we just shoot the recruiting video ourselves on a phone?

For short glimpses and stories, a phone and a clip-on mic are enough. But your apprentices are there to learn their trade, not to be responsible for your public image. A film that shows your values in consistent quality, with clean sound and in a GDPR-compliant way, needs planning and experience. The two complement each other well.

Does a recruiting film work for apprentice recruiting too?

Yes. It is most credible when your current apprentices tell the story themselves. Because the videos are shot in portrait format, they fit straight into the channels young people use.

Do we need a script? What do we have to prepare?

I take care of the concept. Beforehand we clarify target group, goal and shooting plan, instead of filming everything and sorting it out later. From you I need a contact person, the selection of employees and access to the locations.

How many revisions are included?

One bundled round of revisions is included in the fixed price. You give feedback in the client portal, frame-accurate right on the video, instead of writing long emails.

Who do we talk to during the project?

Always me. I handle concept, shoot, edit and project management myself. There are no hand-offs: the person planning with you is the one behind the camera.

Is a shoot outside Leipzig possible?

Yes, anywhere in Germany. The setup is compact enough to travel, and travel and accommodation are listed transparently in the quote.

Let's talk about your open positions.

Tell me briefly which roles you need to fill and who you have to reach. Within 48 hours you get an honest first assessment: what a film can achieve for you, what it can't and how to get there.
